I was given some tickets to watch the theatreworks "DIASPORA" at Esplanade. Though it was kinda of a last minute thing and it's a new experience to watch the 2 hours docu-performance, based on the Chinese saying "To seek a better life by crossing the Four Seas".

This performance was brought by DBS Bank, staged at the Esplanade Concert Hall, performed by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and the main actors. Diaspora is an intercultural, interdisciplinary production with a strong Asian focus. It highlights issues concerning globalisation, and the formation of new cultural roots. All I can say is, I am proud of the SCO. They are really very professional musicians. Enjoyed their music very much. Storyline wise, I personally do not like it.. find it crappy.. especially the last part where the Navin came out to look for people who has the same name as him. It simply break off from the entire performance. Seems like an indian movie. Most of the performance was about the difference Chinese in other Asian countries.

The day was extremely tiring. Reached home and immediately drop dead in bed!
